With Angry Birds, you can enjoy all the fun and exciting gameplay of the original game on almost any device. The Angry Birds franchise now includes a cartoon series, film and dozens of games, but some fans still love the original game the most.

The game lets you take control of multiple birds as you try to defeat pigs. Those pigs hide in different areas on each level. It's your job to send the birds flying through the air to defeat each pig. You'll need to remove all the pigs from each level to advance. You'll also get points for knocking over objects that hide those pigs and other items on each level.

You start out with just a few yellow birds that perform no special actions. The game gives you a slingshot that you use to shoot the birds through the sky. Changing the angle and the speed in which you swipe makes the birds go faster and puts more power behind each shot. You only get a limited number of birds to use in each level. While it might sound easy, this is actually an addictive game.

Unlike many games today that only give you a certain number of lives, the original version of Angry Birds lets you play as long as you want. You'll never need to stop and take a break or spend money to keep playing because you ran out of lives. The game does ask you pretty often if you want to upgrade and spend real money to unlock new features though. It also asks if you want to spend money after failing the same level multiple times.

Designed for ages three and up, Angry Birds uses fun images and graphics of violence that is suitable for most players. It doesn't feature any blood or gruesome effects like other games do. The first few levels introduce you on how to play the game, but the levels get more challenging and difficult as you keep advancing. You get a score at the end of each level, from one to three, based on the total amount of points that you scored. When you earn enough stars across all games in one level, you'll unlock other levels.

The game also introduces new birds that do other things like large red birds that knock down more objects and black birds that explode on impact. While there is a short learning curve when using new birds, most players find Angry Birds both challenging and a little addictive.

Put Your Problem Solving Skills to the Test

If you are not familiar with Angry Birds, you must have been living on another planet for the last few years. This game was released back in 2009 and quickly became one of the most popular puzzle games in the world. In fact, Angry Birds is so popular that a whole host of cartoons, toys and even a film have been released in its wake. So what makes Angry Birds so special? Read on to find out.

Playing the game is fairly simple. A group of greedy pigs have stolen the eggs of the Angry Birds and they are looking for revenge. Players must use the special powers and strengths of each type of bird, which is created in a different style and vibrant colour, to destroy the pigs’ fortress. Use and aim a slingshot to fire the birds at the fortress and make it tumble to the ground, crushing the pigs with it.

Players are given up to five birds in each level to use to destroy the fortress. Each level features a different fortress and players who have birds left over at the end of the level will be rewarded with bonus points. Although learning how to control and aim the slingshot can be a little tricky at first, it doesn’t take more than a few minutes to get to grips with it and become hooked on the Angry Birds game.

There is no doubt that this game is very addictive. This is partly because the simple game structure is very easy to get into right away. Apart from skills such as aiming, there is nothing much required from players. An extra element of fun is provided by watching the pigs and birds interact as they taunt each other. The sound effects are charming and funny and watching the pigs ultimately be destroyed gives players a feeling of achievement.

The graphics are super smooth and players have the opportunity to pan around each stage so they can figure out where they need to strike. The game was released for the PC in 2014 and there have been more than two billion downloads to date. While at first glance the slightly cute graphics may make this game seem like it is for younger players, the tactics and strategy involved mean that older players can really appreciate it too.

Players are even treated to several short video clips throughout the game that really bring the characters to life. In addition to learning the back story of the game, this gives gamers the chance to see how the characters move. The screen hints are very well illustrated and easy to follow without the use of a lot of boring text.

Although the concept is basically the same for each level, the design of the fortresses keeps things interesting. While the pigs may seek refuge in a glass house on one level, in the very next level their house could easily be made from wood or even metal. Players are encouraged to return to previously completed stages to try and beat their score and gain bonus points.

There are more than two hundred different levels to complete and more are increasingly added to give gamers even more to play for. Each of the birds in your arsenal has different attributes to learn and use, such as the yellow dive bomber and the blue birds that divide into three on release and attack different areas of the pigs’ fortress at the same time.

If there is any down side with Angry Birds it would have to be that this game is only for solo players. A multiple player option would be nice so that you have the chance to pit your wits and skills against one or more friends. Having said that, this element would ultimately make playing the game much slower.

Some players may find some of the upper levels very challenging and unfortunately there is no way to progress in the game unless you have completed them. This might be one of the things that makes Angry Birds so addictive though, as players are urged to play for endless hours until they finally complete the challenge.

Overall, it is easy to see why Angry Birds is so popular with gamers of all ages. There are now a large number of other themed episodes of Angry Birds to try as well, such as Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons. This means that the fun will never end and you can switch between games to keep the gaming feeling fresh and interesting.

Angry Birds is a puzzle game where you get to play as one of the brightly colored birds, each with its own attitude.

Each level brings a new challenge, and each challenge gets harder for the bird of your choice. Your mission as a bird is to defeat a group of green pigs. The pigs have decided to steal all of the eggs that the birds have. This will come into play later in the game as you will use some of the eggs to try to defeat the pigs.

When you play each level, you think that the birds are military fighters with all of the clothes and the gear that they have. There are some birds that have paint on their faces and some that have military hats. The game seems to go on forever as there are about 120 levels of play. You would think that it would take hours to complete the game, but the first few levels go by fairly quickly as you can easily take down the pigs.

In each level, you will use either a mouse or special keys on the keyboard to control the angle of which you launch your ammunition to defeat the pigs. If you don't get the angle right, then you won't hit the pigs, and they can begin to defeat you. A fun aspect of the game is that you are launching birds to hit the pigs. It's best to try to hit as many pigs as possible with only one bird so that it's easier to defeat the enemy as fast as you can. This is also how you'll get through the dozens of levels of game play.

Pros

  • Fun birds launched at pigs
  • Numerous levels
  • Lots of fun to watch

Cons

  • Levels seem to repeat
